About Hostomel

Hostomel was the site of one of the first battles during the Russian invasion in February 2022 and was occupied for about one month. More than 40% of residences were damaged or destroyed.

High-priority needs: housing, trauma care, employment, education

Services provided to 25,658+ people (May 2023-March 2026):

  • Food and hygiene supplies
  • Medicine
  • Child care
  • Repairs to damaged homes
  • Legal, trauma, and spiritual counseling

Hostomel WeCare Center Operations

As of March 2026:

  • 5 Staff
  • 15 Volunteers
  • 21 community partners collaborate to provide services

All WeCare Centers agree to operational and financial oversight from Ukraine Partnership Missions. This structure, which includes counsel and service from American experts, is designed to assure integrity and efficiency.
