About Cherkasy

The Drushkivka WeCare Center was originally situated in the Donetsk region of Eastern Ukraine where much of the front-line fighting has occurred. In the fall of 2025, the city was evacuated ahead of a Russian offensive and the WeCare Center was relocated to Cherkasy. This city in central Ukraine has a population of over nearly 270,000 and is the region’s cultural, educational and industrial center.

High-priority needs: housing, trauma care, employment, education

  • Trauma and spiritual counseling

Cherkasy WeCare Center Operations

As of March 2026:

  • 19 Staff
  • 5 Volunteers
  • 10 community partners collaborate to provide services

All WeCare Centers agree to operational and financial oversight from Ukraine Partnership Missions. This structure, which includes counsel and service from American experts, is designed to assure integrity and efficiency.
